Cash, changes and Chores

Hello chums,

A fair deal has occoured since our last sporadic entries.

We've changed our name again, and again. We should now be addressed as Sandpit Ninjas. There'll be no going back this time, as T-shirts for boys and girls, emblazoned with our name are now available from our new dedicated website, Woo Hoo!

Yep, with a little help from Matt at Team Midlife Crisis, you can now see everything Mongol Rally, at : www.mongolmayhem.co.uk

Look for the odd 'ninjafy' button and buy our cool t-shirts!

In other news, we threw a great End of January Blues Party at the Wine Cellar in Kings Cross, London. It was well attended by loadsa good mates, and we invited them to part with any spare cash, which boosted our charity coffers by £180, taking us to just over half way of our target.

Random donations have now slowed to a stop ;-( We know it's something you're going to get around to, but just DO IT NOW!! We desparatley need more money f0r our first official charity, so we can hopefully start collecting for a personal charity straigh after.

Goto : www.justgiving/timanddebbie and cash in now. xx

The other practicalities are on the back burner, the car, new passports!, visas - yeah, that stuff can wait!

We've also set up a cheeky little Facebook group for teams doing the Rally this year, which has taken off like a hungry goose, with 150 members, so hopefully we'll be getting some unofficial drink up organised. Whoop.

Thats it for now, speak y'all later. - Sandpit Ninjas

First Team Meeting

Hi All,

No! We we're not talking about us two discussing tyre treads over beans on toast in the kitchen. We are talking all the teams making their way to buzzing bristol for charity chats followed swiftly by cake, beers and pizza,

Things we learned are that their are 500 teams taking part this year, twice the number of last year. Some of the people we met are a couple of teachers from Walthamstow who plan to turn a van into a mobile disco, with mirrorball and all. A whole team of ex-army guys who are taking a fire truck - would quite like to convoy with those chaps.

Other teams all seemed like friendly bunches, so we are resting a little easier knowing there should be some better equipped ralliers nearby to help us out when the wheels come flying off!

We're looking forward a track day in Wales and more parties in the future......meanwhile we should be launching our very own regular pub quiz party soon.

Watch this space. xx

Donation Station

Hurrah! We don't know why, but it really took us by surprise when people started donating to our charity..... its been a great week with £125 in the first few days, with cash coming from work friends, travelling mates and old skool dudes alike.
At the moment, pretty much everyone who has donated is in line for a prize! So get giving, you can't make it that easy for those guys to walk with the goodies. The limited edition 007 Swatch watch has created a stir !! Check it out, someone will be the pride of the playground ;-)

The Name Game!

Okay, after drinking our body weight in red wine, in search of answers, we have had to settle on a Team Name. The working title of Mongol Monsters is no more.

We are now this catchy little number.

Team : Smelly Socks, Frilly Frocks and Two Smoking Camels!

I thankyou.

September. Done.

Well, another month has flown by.

A soupcon of stuff has been achieved. The main thing being the charities have been announced, and fund-raising is underway. yeee-ha!

An honourable roll call of generous types will be thrown into a lucky dip of prizes, to be drawn early January 2009. See our face book group for details....

Thats "Tim and Debs Mongolian Mission", crazy kids.

Donate now, to be in with a chance. Its better odd than the euro millions, honest. Click on the widget to the side to get started. (Thanks)

We'll be testing out a "spot" gps system for my ever increasingly nervous brother soon. Its quite a cool device, you can go anywhere in the world, and for a small fee, you can press a button (in an emergency), and using google maps i'll send a helicopter to rescue you. Cool, just need to get into some serious shite now!

Will update more soon, Later. x
